Let us just start off with this...wow!
Never before had we had a fashion show come into our venue, but we are glad we did! The show was put on by the non profit Port City Magic, and comprised of exclusively local talent and designers mostly from the Wilmington area.
Sandra the Midday Miss and DJ Champ Wooten returned to the venue as Emcees and hosts for the show and Day Party, and pictures of the different fashion lines were taken by Jamie Hansen of the Workshop of Wilmington as well as a family friend of the coordinator, Kayla.
The venue itself was transformed into a runway complete with chairs on either side of the "runway" and high-end photography lights at the end. Models of all ages graced the stage as they bore designs from Support the Port, KynKlub, 17 Roses, Careless Pioneers, Girl Talk, Roll Up Gang, B. A. G. S. Apparel, and of course Effortliss Designs swimwear line! There were vendor tables on the stage that had their wares available to anyone who wanted to get a piece of local businesses while watching a show filled to the brim with local designers!
We got to see designs of all kinds, from hoodies and hats, to kids clothing, jewelry, sunglasses, cakes, and more. The different collections of each designer was incredible. They were all different and unique in their own way.
It takes an immense amount of effort and time to pull something like a fashion show off without any hiccups, and we are so happy that we got to be a small part of such a big event. Keep your eyes peeled for future events by Ms. Kayla Munn and everyone else who participated in the show because we can guarantee that they are going to be huge!
