At Events! On Front, we love to party and the 2015 North Carolina Azalea Festival marks the official start of the spring party season.
Founded in 1948, the NC Azalea Festival brings locals and tourists alike into downtown Wilmington to enjoy art shows, live concerts, garden tours and family fun of all sorts. This year, a projected 1 million people are expected to view the many events included in the area’s festival of spring. Talk about a party!
If music is your thing, the 2015 NC Azalea Festival includes concerts by country favorite Alan Jackson on Thursday, April 9th and multi-platinum, Grammy Award winning rap artist Nelly on Friday, April 10th. If you are looking for some live music on Saturday, April 11th, be sure to go to the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater to see the Old School Concert featuring Grammy-Award winning Big Daddy Kane and artist and producer Jon B.
Your entire family will have a good time when you visit the downtown Street Fair. This year's fair features over 330 arts and craft vendors, 40 food vendors, 4 stages, and a children’s area. On April 11th and 12th, there will also be a Multicultural Stage featuring the sounds and sights of cultures from around the world. Family fun is sure to abound with the Cole Brother’s Circus returning for another year, as well.
For those that want to sneak a peek at some of the beautiful and historic homes around Wilmington, the Historic Wilmington Foundation offers the Historic Home Tour April 11th and 12th. More interested in the beautiful gardens? Try the Cape Fear Garden Club’s Azalea Garden Tour April 10th through April 12th.
